Do you want your work seen by over 2 million daily unique users worldwide?

Now you can become an essential part of a company at the forefront of its field!

We are currently looking for a new System Administrator to join our 30+ team of developers, designers, journalists, and astrophysicists, who make the magic happen at our Time & Date HQ in Stavanger, Norway.

With over 11 nationalities represented, we are proud to have a talented team where everyone is included and welcome in our social work environment.

For us, some of the most important aspects of the right candidate are motivation, attitude, and communication in both your field of expertise and to our mission of simplifying life in a globalized world.

Our daily work-life is encapsulated by our values of Collaboration, Trust, Respect, Evolution, and Enjoyment.

We work smart and have fun while getting the job done.

As a System Administrator with us, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Setup and maintain external servers in data centers round the globe
  • Provision extra server capacity for major events
  • Create scripts and use tools to automate operations
  • Create and deploy containers with software developed inhouse
  • Setup internal devices
  • Monitor health of internal and external servers
  • Provide technical support to co-workers

As a Time and Date team member, you will have a free choice of preferred equipment. Your onboarding process is designed to ease you in to the company over time.

Our wish list for a dream candidate looks a bit like this:

Your desk can be (a bit) messy, but you should have a deep understanding of GNU/Linux systems, feel home at a shell prompt, and at the same time always think Security. A solid knowledge of networking and internet services should follow along. Part of our workload is deployed via Kubernetes, do you maybe hold a CKA or other relevant certification?

Be sure to let us know in your application if you are also familiar with administration of database software, have programming skills in Go, Perl, PHP or Python, or have experience with Infrastructure as Code.

We are open to candidates with a niche skillset in our field or the services we provide but would love it if you also have a Computer Science degree - however, this is not necessarily a dealbreaker.

The only requirement written in stone is that you have a genuine love for System Administration, a curious nature, and that you are comfortable with our corporate language being English.

Our offer:

We do not adhere to the commercial grind of consultancy work. With us, you can pour your heart into a project and follow it through its whole lifecycle.

What you do here daily has a significant impact, and you will get a respected and renowned stage to display your skills.

You can make changes and improvements as projects mature, working towards our long-term vision.

You will have five weeks of holiday, in addition to Christmas, New Year's, and the Wednesday before Easter.

The position is local, with a choice to work partially from home.

Our HQ is modern and on brand for us, both in design and layout.

We have a social style of working with jogging groups during the workday, along with sauna- gaming- climbing- and quiz- groups.

We offer HjemJobbHjem memberships for all employees and free parking on the premises.

We go on yearly company trips to exciting places abroad and excursions to capture live footage of the eclipses happening around the world.

We offer a competitive salary, with pension options and insurance to attract and keep the best candidates.
